What do you need?

Find resources (inner and outer) when you need them

What’s the thing on your mind that you don’t know how to make headway with? That seems near-impossible?

Assuming that you’re clear where you want to head to, the next step can be tackled in two columns.

To do this, draw a line down a page, the section on the left becoming Resources I Already Have.

The section on the right is What I Need.

How this format might look in my notebook

I recommend you set up the sections before you think what’s inside them. Without this preliminary step, thoughts of what you need can crowd you in and disrupt your focus on what you already have.

I find myself doing this often in my (confidential) session notes with clients. I can do the sorting into columns as they talk freestyle about their resources and respond to my prompts and questions. I can then reflect back to them what they have, and what they’re looking for next - in their own words.

My example: using the format to think about ByHeart Newsletter

Occasionally, I invite a client to write their own notes: seeing how much you already have, written in your own hand, can be hugely reassuring.

Happy sailing towards your dreams!
